I came across this play while browsing and I really liked it a lot - give it a once-over. I think many of you will like it. It's got a couple of kid roles; I hope you guys can give me some help in adapting that or working it out.
The play's This Blood's for You by David Christner.

One more play
Bhargav informed me about this play The Zoo Story by Edward Albee - check it out via the link and comment. It's a 45 minute to 1 hour play. It could work for Oasis or as an LTC play.

Novels adaptable into plays
There are a couple of novels that could be adapted into plays - Einstein's Dreams and Time's Arrow - or The Nature of the Offence. Both deal with time warps and chronological anomalies. Please post if any of you can get your hands on an online copy or the books themselves. Follow the links to read the Wiki synopses.

Plays checked out
I've gone through three plays - Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw, Happenstance by Scott Sickles and The Bindermeyer Theory by Nicholas Wardigo. Follow the links to read the plays online/download them and comment on whether they would be suitable for staging next semester. I'm also looking for this play called Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Lee - it's based on the Scopes trial and is a courtroom drama pitting science and evolution against traditionalism and the theory of intelligent design. If someone knows of a copy of this play available freely on the Internet or can pick up a copy of the play somewhere, let me know.

Ahem!
First things first; plays that you could attempt through the semester; happened to watch this British movie called "Death at a Funeral" recently and I just felt that it would be awesome if we could get that made into a play; with oodles of changes here and there, of course. But it'd be like a perfect full length comedy if you guys could attempt it. Do try getting hold of a DVD some place or downloading it.
Then of course, there's this whole list of good plays that you guys could work on; but considering the rather drastic change in the sort of people that'd be watching the ones you do, I shut up. :P
And talking of plays watched through summer; don't even get me started on this horrid horrid reproduction of Arthur Miller's "Death of A Salesman" by this randomest troupe at Rangashankara recently. They murdered it. It was gory. Amen.
Lemme know if you guys need scripts; oodles up my sleeve.
Cheers,
Arun
